College Principal's Welcome |
Welcome to Kelvin Grove State College’s website. I hope you enjoy learning a little more about the college.
Since my arrival in January this year, it has become very obvious to me that our college has many strengths, built on a long history of traditions and success. The college also has a reputation for being progressive, innovative and caring. Over a long period of time our students have achieved some great academic results and made a valuable contribution to the wider community. These qualities are ones that we will be building on in the years ahead.
Through our learning program we live out the college values and our motto, “With All Thy Might”. Kelvin Grove State College has always focused on creating learning opportunities for our young people to help them to realise their dreams for the future. This has remained constant at the college, even though education has continued to change over time.
With a long-established reputation as a School of Excellence in dance, golf, football and tennis, we also offer specialised learning programs such as accelerated pathways to universities, particularly QUT and Academic Achiever classes in the Middle School. Links with industry through apprenticeships and traineeships are available to our senior school students. We are also proud of our long history of educating so many international students whose participation in the college enriches the learning experiences of all of our students. Our learning program does, indeed, cater for students of all abilities and with many interest areas.
You will find there are many times we participate in community activities and lots of these activities are announced on our website. Please join with us at these events and enjoy the talents of our students and staff. I am sure they will take the opportunity to talk about what we do and who we are.
