AN INTRODUCTION TO KGSC INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS' PROGRAM

Kelvin Grove State College is a dynamic institution. It is a place where challenges are relished and met head on. Our international students are very successful. In 2006 the Dux of the school was an International student who gained an OP1. Another international student also gained an OP1 while another gained and OP2. All in all, 40% of International students received an OP between 1-5 and 95% achieved an OP between 1-15! Excellent results and these students should be very proud of themselves.

LIVING IN HOMESTAY

Staying in a homestay gives you the opportunity to:

  • make friends with Australians
  • improve your English language skills
  • share information about your culture
  • adjust to a new country while living in a safe and caring environment

When you have homestay with one of our families, you will become part of the family. Our homestay families are considerate, kind people who recognise and understand the cultural differences. Before becoming a homestay family, the family must meet standards that have been developed by Education Queensland International and our school. We visit each family and monitor homestays regularly. All homestay family members undertake an induction process before hosting students.
