This morning the College officially launched the Kelvin Grove State College Health Highway and Health Simulation Centre, and signed an MOU as the Gateway to Industry School for Health in Brisbane. Key industry stakeholders and special guests were invited to view the centre, meet our students, and hear about the incredible school based programs, pathways and opportunities on offer.

The College is working with Axiom College to establish a "Health Highway" facility, combining nationally recognised training qualifications with a health "Simulation Centre". This centre is equipped with modern hospital equipment such as hospital beds, wheelchairs, hoists and mannequins enabling students to learn real life industry skills.

Throughout the program, students will learn:

Infection control, First Aid and CPR, delivering quality healthcare to patients, and will be educated on the broad career options and pathways available within the health industry

Additionally, students will undertake work experience in the health industry and conduct University campus visits. This exciting initiative equips students with the relevant skillsets demanded by industry, and provides world of work experiences, allowing students to transition into tertiary studies or directly into full-time employment in the health industry.

A big thank to our key industry partners, CheckUp, Axiom College, RBWH and Metro North,

and our special guests for attending today's event.
