
The English EXCELeration program offers high performing English students curriculum acceleration, and seeks to offer them the opportunity to pursue their academic and creative goals through enrichment, innovation and the pursuit of excellence in their preferred pathway.

Program Overview
Commencing their study of General English in Year 10, students enrolled in the English EXCELeration program complete all 4 units of General English by the end of Year 11.

Year 11 General English
Unit 3: Textual connections
Unit 4: Close study of literary texts
Year 12
After completion of General English in Year 11, options include:
- English & Literature Extension
- Tertiary Study
- Mentored Literary Project
Subject Selection
Positions in the program are limited. Due to the accelerated nature of the program, entry into English EXCELeration is restricted to students who are transitioning from Year 9 into Year 10. Successful entry will be based on a range of considerations, including the strength of the student's application, and academic history. Students who wish to join the program, must submit their application as part of their Year 9 into 10 Subject Selection process.
Accreditation
Students who successfully complete the program, receive QCE credit for 4 units of General English. After completing the program, students may have the option to pursue additional QCE credit through studies in English and Literature Extension, and/or early start tertiary programs.
Program fee: $200 per semester.
This fee helps to cover relevant text resources, publishing opportunities, writers' residencies, classroom materials, as well as participation in a range of events and workshops.
