Computer aided drafting is a strong focus area within the Technology & Design faculty. TAD utilises the CAD software – AutoCAD 2015, Inventor 2015 and Revit Architecture 2015.

Facilities include 54 computers, air conditioned labs, A3 colour printing and a concept design learning area. Currently 375 students study CAD within this faculty.

Trade Training Center – Certificate I in Engineering consists of machinery that includes: 8 lathes, 3 milling machines, 4 mig welding bays, tig welding bay, plasma cutter bay, 2800mm pan brake, hydraulic guillotine metal fabrication and finishing area with oxyacetylene welding bay.

Furnishing Studies machinery includes: spindle moulders, table saw, thicknesser/planner, mortice routers, band saws, wood lathes, sanding disc and a variety of hand held power tools.

Certificate III Early Childhood Education & Care is offered to year 11 and 12 students. Cairns Training Academy provide the educational framework for students pursuing a career in child care. 14 modules are completed in association with structured work placement. 

Certificate I in Hospitality is offered to students in years 11 and 12.  Students complete modules, work placement and attain barista and responsible service of alcohol certificates. Fully equipped kitchens are utilized with a theory dining room for customer service.
