Queensland Ballet Academy offers an elite ballet training program for talented students to pursue intensive training while completing face-to-face Senior academic studies in Years 7 to 12 at Kelvin Grove State College.
The
Academy Program, is reinforced by a unique educational and artistic collaboration between Queensland Ballet and Kelvin Grove State College, providing a seamless delivery of world-leading practice in professional ballet training, underpinned by agile futures-focused learning pathways with a focus on student wellbeing.
The Academy Program sits amongst Queensland Ballet Academy's 10-level pathway for young dancers from 8 years of age through to a pre-professional level. All programs are overseen by Queensland Ballet's Artistic Director,
Li Cunxin AO, and students enjoy the privilege and benefit of working within a professional environment, alongside a world-class ballet company.
Academy Program Levels 6–1 (Years 7–12)
The Academy Program is a full-time training course for advanced students who simultaneously complete their academic schooling at Kelvin Grove State College.
During Senior Schooling (Years 10–12), Academy Program students may select from a variety of Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and non-ATAR subjects. These face-to-face academic studies ensure all students are eligible to graduate with a Queensland Certificate of Education and an ATAR Score or Tertiary Entrance Ranking. Vocational Education and Training (VET) accredited courses are also available.
Students who successfully complete the Academy Program in Year 12 will also receive a Statement of Attainment endorsed by Queensland Ballet and the Department of Education.
