Kelvin Grove State College

Kelvin Grove State College is part of a unique educational precinct. It is only three kilometres from Brisbane City’s central business district. Our college seeks to provide a supportive and engaging learning environment for all. Our focus is on excellence in all areas of education. This is articulated and promoted through expectations of a strong work ethic, pride in, and recognition of, socially just practices including valuing social diversity, and civic participation

The college is convenient to public transport and is close to all the conveniences of the city. It is also adjacent to Kelvin Grove Urban Village. The college’s strong and established links with the adjoining Queensland University of Technology and other tertiary institutions allow students to plot and progress their own learning pathways from Prep to University within one educational establishment.

The co-location of the college with QUT, including its Engineering, Education and Creative Industries faculties, forms a unique precinct that provides a focus on excellence in learning.

Kelvin Grove State College – Gateway Hub for Engineering

The Gateway to Industry Schools Program (GISP) for Manufacturing and Engineering is pleased to announce Kelvin Grove State College as the new regional Gateway Hub for Engineering.

The Manufacturing and Engineering Gateway to Industry Schools Program (funded by the Department of Education and Training) encourages partnerships between industry, government and community to build Queensland’s manufacturing and engineering workforce for the future.

The Program involves Queensland secondary schools engaging collaboratively with their respective local manufacturing and engineering enterprises, registered training organisations and universities to raise the profile of careers in manufacturing and engineering; integrate and embed manufacturing and engineering activities across key learning curriculum areas; create opportunities for work experience, apprenticeships and traineeships, and pathways to university and the workplace.

GISP is proud to partner with industry champions, companies with world leading engineers, Watkins Steel, Ferra Engineering and Euclideon, to showcase engineering in real world applications.  These industry experts will offer key advice, intelligence and opportunities to support and foster our talent pipeline and industry’s future skills requirements.

KGSC is looking forward to launching the GISP and celebrating this eco-system milestone on Monday 6 November at Euclideon, a Brisbane based technology company leading the way in the development of algorithms and the manufacturing of holographic 3x3m rooms and gaming software.
