Kelvin Grove State College has two libraries: the Junior School Library and the Middle and Senior School Library. Each is supported by a team of dedicated librarians, and provides resources, services and learning spaces tailored to the needs of our students.
The Junior School Library is a welcoming space that fosters a love of reading and provides opportunities for students to connect, explore and unwind. Weekly library lessons introduce students to a diverse range of books and encourage regular borrowing and independent reading. Open before school and at break times, the Library offers board games and activities alongside a safe, quiet environment where students can relax with a book.
The Middle and Senior School Library is a vibrant hub for learning, collaboration and connection. Its large, open central area provides a space where students can study, research and engage with each other creatively. There are opportunities to learn 3D modelling and printing skills, robotics, engage in clubs such as Crochet and Book Club, play board games and chess and more. Separate rooms provide quiet study areas, computers and a dedicated Quiet Reading Room. Students can access a variety of online material through the Library SharePoint page – including the Library catalogue, assignment resources, recommended websites, fiction and non-fiction eBooks and audiobooks, ClickView videos, reading recommendations and information about Library services.
The Student Tech Hub and Student Laptop Hub are also located in the Middle and Senior School Library. IT staff are available before school and during breaks to assist students with their technology needs.
