A number of vendors have developed portals/online stores that College parents/carers can use to research and\or purchase laptops and other items. There are also a number of other retail stores in the local area that have advised that they are able to provide suitable laptops and other items to KGSC parents/carers.
To ensure the best value for money, parents/carers are encouraged to research laptops and other items (please see minimum specifications and required items for the BYOx program) across a wide range vendors and retailers to obtain quotes to ensure that the best possible price can be negotiated.
A low cost laptop may not always be best option over the long term.
It is important to consider the "total costs of ownership” including warranty, technical support arrangements and components. Ensure that the device is suitable for use in a school BYOx program, rather than for home or business office use.

Education suppliers have experience in supplying devices which have been evaluated by the Department of Education for use with school students, and may be able to provide a cost effective suitable device and warranty and technical support arrangements (eg next day on site repairs).
Many vendors offer finance plans, hiring and/or leasing options. Purchase, finance and lease agreements are private arrangements between the parent/caregiver and the vendor. The College and the P&C take no responsibility for any private finance arrangements.
All issues with laptop purchases or technical issues need to be taken up with the vendor, not the College or the P&C.
The College takes no responsibility for any information provided on the vendor portals which is provided as a service to parents/carers.
Vendors are provided information about the College BYOx program, including minimum specifications and required items, and vendors have sole responsibility for the offerings (which can be updated without notice) they include on their portals and online stores.
Parents/carers need to ensure that minimum specifications and requirements for the BYOx program are met when considering purchasing items through any vendor.
