We proudly launched our 150th anniversary celebrations—a truly memorable event that brought together alumni, students, staff, and community members to commemorate this extraordinary milestone in our College’s history.
The schools of Kelvin Grove, spanning the original Girls and Infants’ School, Boys, Primary, High School, and now the College, have long stood as a cornerstone of the local community. With deep roots and a strong legacy of community connection, we continue to carry forward this spirit of engagement into our 150th year.

One of the highlights of the celebration included the Nostalgic Journey Through Time presentation by former KGSS Principal and KGSC Junior School Principal Judy Thompson, whose insights and stories brought the rich history of Kelvin Grove to life.

We were also honoured to welcome back former principals Dr Regan Neumann (KGSC), Daryl Hanly (KGSHS), and Joan Bradbury (KGSS), who joined College Executive Principal Joel Buchholz for an engaging and entertaining panel discussion reflecting on their leadership experiences across the Kelvin Grove schools.
(Unfortunately, Greg Heidke (KGSHS-KGSC), and Llew Paulger (KGSC), were unable to join us).

The event was further enriched by breathtaking musical performances, including a reprise of The Circle of Life from The Lion King by Brett Kavanagh on The Christie Theatre Pipe Organ, and an exceptional rendition of the College Song by Year 11 student Sebastian.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our wonderful KG team of co-creators and collaborators, the alumni, and the wider community whose passion and contributions helped bring the 150th Celebration Launch to life. It was a fantastic celebration of our past, present, and future we look forward to our upcoming 150th Celebration Events –

  • KG Past and Present Staff and Alumni Celebration Lunch on the 14th September.
