Congratulations to all students who competed in the inaugural QLD Minecraft Schools Cup, hosted by Villanova College on the weekend.
KGSC had a team of 6 keen Middle School students, from Years 6 - 8, competing against 6 other schools. The team needed to work together and communicate to defend their base, while attacking the other team to capture a flag and bring it back.
We only received confirmation that we were in the competition in week 10 last term, so we didn't have any time to train - putting us at a disadvantage against some of the private schools that have professional coaches and practice daily!
Still, the students did an excellent job learning the map and figuring out a strategy and we won two of our matches (just missing out on the semi finals).
There are another two competition days later in the year so we're keen to get training and hopefully make it to the finals!
